SNAP

Purpose:  Target students who are at risk of not reading on grade level and not being proficient on the NJSLA for after school intervention.

Program Description

1st to 3rd grade students will be identified through iReady, STAR, reading level, and teacher/RTI/I&RS recommendation.  The typical day will consist of:

           Reading a familiar book; Word study from a spelling list; Writing; and iReady usage.

4th and 5th grade students will be identified from their previous years NJSLA scores.  Emphasis will be given to students who had a raw score just at the “cut” line or just below it on their previous NJSLA. Students will be identified based upon cluster scores in two areas; Reading and Writing. Students will focus on reading and writing skills based on released test questions. Students will also utilize iReady. 

These activities will be adjusted based on the grade level/needs of students.

TOP-MATH

Purpose:  Target students for after school intervention who are below grade level in Mathematics according to the iReady or STAR or are not meeting expectations on the NJSLA. Emphasis will be given to students who had a raw score just at the “cut” line or just below it on their previous NJSLA. 

Program Description: 

Students in Grades 1-2 will receive Math support focusing on necessary skills and grade level activities and iReady usage.  

Regular Education students in Grades 3-5 will receive Math support focusing on necessary skills in preparation for the 2020 NJSLA. Students will also utilize iReady.

Special Education students in Grades 3-5 will receive Math support focusing on necessary skills in preparation for the 2020 NJSLA. Students will also utilize iReady.

These activities will be adjusted based on the grade level/needs of students.
